Parent and Supporters Reception
Parents and Supporters are invited to attend the annual reception and presentation on Move-in Day to learn more about the services available at STU. There will be a presentation at 3:00 pm, with an opportunity to meet the team who will support first-year students before and after the presentation.

Your First Stop
REGISTRAR’S OFFICE
The Registrar’s Office is a one-stop service for most academic questions within the administrative or non-teaching context. Staff help students with course registration issues, transcript requests, approval of course overloads, confirmation of enrolment letters, processing requests for transfer credits, in-course scholarships and more. FINANCIAL SERVICES
Located in GMH 103, the Financial Services Office is where students pay their fees and deal with all university-related financial matters, including student loans. Please call 452-7703 or 452-0544 or email financialservices@stu.ca.
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT & FINANCIAL AID
Staff work with students through workshops and one-on-one appointments to help define and plan their employment and financial goals. Students can improve their resume writing, interview skills, networking and self-branding, and access information on provincial and federal student aid programs and bursaries. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The International Student Coordinator assists new international students through personal advising, provision of various programs and referrals to services. They oversee the International Exchange Programs for students wanting to study abroad. To book an appointment, please visit GMH 303, call 452-9593 or email cmonteith@stu.ca.
WABANAKI STUDENT CENTRE
The Wabanaki Student Centre provides Indigenous students with a culturally and spiritually rich environment for academic and personal support. The Centre is the daily starting point for many Indigenous students, whether it is to connect with the Elder-in-Residence, have coffee, finish an assignment or relax. Academic Assistance
ACADEMIC ADVISING
The Academic Advising team helps students with academic-related issues such as developing an academic plan, degree requirements or any academic confusion students might encounter. To book an appointment, visit GMH 101, call 452-0530 or email advising@stu.ca.
PEER MENTORING PROGRAM
First-year students are paired with third or fourth-year student mentors who share their knowledge on how to successfully navigate university life, academically and personally. For more information, contact peermentors@stu.ca.
PEER TUTORING
Students are eligible for up to two hours of free peer tutoring per week which can be used to help understand course concepts, review class readings, organize notes and complete practice exercises. Students should consult the Peer Tutor Contact List .
STUDENT SUCCESS COACH
The Student Success Coach helps students become effective learners in the university environment, offering workshops and one-on-one sessions on time management and organization, note-taking, study skills, assignment preparation, avoiding procrastination and more. WRITING CENTRE
Located in ECH 102, the Writing Centre offers free one-on-one help to students. It allows students to develop the writing skills they need to succeed at university and assists with all stages of the writing process, from organizing ideas to revising a final draft. CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Our Career Development Advisor supports students in identifying their goals and creating a plan to achieve them. This individualized support is offered from first year to fourth year and includes developing job search strategies, refining resume writing, interview preparation, and networking. Residence Living
RES LIFE
The Residence Life Office, including staff and the Residence Advisors, provides students with a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living space and engage them through a variety of residence programming. Please visit GMH 303, call 452-0578 or email residencelife@stu.ca.
Healthy Living
MENTAL HEALTH
Students may access free and confidential on-site counselling and mental health support. Counselling Services can assist students with a broad range of issues, including body image, grief, loss, self-esteem, stress management, academic difficulties and relationship conflicts. Students can access same day drop-in appointments, ongoing counselling support, and participate in group counselling, weekly workshops and self-care events. STUDENT HEALTH CENTRE
Available for full-time students, the Student Health Centre can assess and help manage a wide variety of medical problems. Confidential services include immunization clinics, physical examinations, consultation on reproductive/sexual health, smoking cessation counselling and much more. Book an appointment by visiting the third floor of the C.C. Jones Building during business hours, or calling 453-4837.
UNB COUNSELLING
Students can access UNB Counselling Services for individual or group counselling support for a broad range of personal or mental health issues. Students can book an appointment by visiting Counselling Services at UNB on the second floor of the C.C. Jones Building, calling 453-4820 or by emailing counsel@unb.ca.
SEXUAL VIOLENCE SUPPORT ADVOCATES
Students have access to Sexual Violence Support Advocates Hilary Swan and Maggie Forsythe who, together, offer support to survivors of sexual violence. This goes beyond providing resources and allows survivors to develop a personal connection with someone and find a safe place to feel heard, believed, and validated while they work to explore options available to survivors. Accessibility Services
STUDENT ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES
Student Accessibility Services help provide academic accommodations to students with permanent or temporary disabilities. Once registered, students may be eligible to receive services such as note-taking, testing accommodations, access to assistive technology, skills training, and assistance with government funding. Spiritual Life
CAMPUS MINISTRY
The Community Chaplain and Campus Ministry offer spiritual support, guidance and a listening ear to all students, regardless of faith. Students can become involved in ministries, attend retreats, explore leadership opportunities and share theological discussions. Campus Ministry also oversees the Student Food Bank.
